Did
your browser search engine get changed by adware?
Are you sick of always getting search results from an engine that you don’t like?
You can change your default search engine, though some browsers make it easier than others. See the Steps below to learn how
If you are using Google chrome follow these steps :
1.Click the Chrome menu button. This is located in the upper-right corner of the window. Select Settings from the menu. This will open a new tab for the Settings menu.
2.Locate the Search section. Click the dropdown menu to select the search engine you would like to use. To add a different search engine, continue with the steps.
3.Click "Manage Search Engines". You will see two lists: default search engines, and other search engines that you have used while browsing with Chrome. You should be able to find any you would like to use here, but if not, scroll down until you see the textbox for adding another search engine.
4.Fill in the form data. This includes the name of the search engine, the search URL, and a keyword. The search engine will then be added. Just click "Make default" while hovering over it to make it your default search engine.
If you are using firefox follow these steps :
1.Change the search engine in the Search bar. The only way to change the default search for the address bar in Firefox is to select the search engine from the dropdown menu in the Search bar. Click the arrow next to the search engine icon to choose the engine that you want to use.
2.Add more search engines. If you want to add a search engine to the list, click the dropdown menu in the Search bar and then click the “Manage Search Engines” option. From the Manage Search Engines window, click the “Get more search engines” link. This will take you to the Firefox products page where you can browse through available search engines.
Click the “+Add to Firefox” button to add the search engine to your list.
3.Change the default search engine in the Search box. Type “about:config” into the address bar and accept the warning. Search for "browser.search.defaultenginen ame"
in the search area. Change this to the search engine you want exactly
as shown in the search menu (click the icon next to the search box to
see the menu).
If you are using IE follow these steps:
1.Click the arrow right next to the search icon in the address bar. It will show a drop-down with icons in it. Click "Add". Internet Explorer will take you to its search engine gallery.
2.Choose a search engine from the gallery. To see more, scroll down and click the arrow at the bottom of the list. Click on the search engine choice to see more details.
3.Install the search engine add-on. Click the “Add to Internet Explorer” button. You'll be presented with a dialog box prompting for confirmation to add the search engine. If you want this to be your default search engine, tick the "Make this my default search provider" box. Click Add. The search engine should now be changed.
Hope this helps you
